Staying in Education

What does staying in education mean?

The law now states that children are all required to stay in education or training until their 18th birthday.

This does not mean you have to stay in school.

However, it does mean that you will have to consider doing one of the options below…

Apprenticeships [Click for more information]

An apprenticeship usually requires you to be working 4 days a week with an employer and 1 day per week in a college or training centre working towards a qualification.

Alternatively, you can undertake work experience as part of a traineeship.

Full Time Education Options [Click for more information]

Sixth Form
Study A levels or BTECs.

Local Colleges
Study full time courses  eg: A levels, BTECs or NVQs.

Training Providers  [Click for more information]
Go on a training programme, which can help you find work, apprenticeship or traineeship.
